Regent University Employee of the Month is Christine Payne!

The Library faculty and staff are very happy to congratulate one of their own. Access Services Supervisor Christine Payne has been chosen as Regent’s Employee of the Month for May. Her commendation, compiled from comments by coworkers who nominated her, reads as follows:

“Known throughout the Library as a woman of exemplary dependability and dedication, Christine is able to share her love of the Lord and be a reflection of his character in all that she does. Her high level of integrity is bolstered by her good cheer and tirelessness in creating a consistent atmosphere of maximum efficiency and professionalism, especially in her other role as Night Supervisor for the Library Access Services.

Verifiably an excellent Jill-of-all-trades, Christine works tirelessly to train, mentor, and nurture student workers as they learn the many intricacies of the Resource Service Desk. In this position, her workers’ interactions with other library users have received multiple positive reviews thanks to her tutelage. Her attitude when tasked with a job to do shows that she will exceed anyone’s expectations through perseverance and hard work.

Away from the Circulation Desk, Christine has played an innovating role in creating and maintaining several social media campaigns, revamping the library registration forms for online use, and introducing the beloved library mascot, Robbie! Her clever thinking really shone through after she created a video of library staff and services available for distance learning, making sure no student was without their resources during this trying time. With our current environment as challenging as it is now, Christine has improvised, adapted, and overcome the adversity and effortlessly proved why she is deserving of such recognition.”

Christine, thank you for all you do to make the Library, both on-campus and online, a friendly, efficient, and innovative place for the Regent community.
